Why you should go with the O

When asked the question, “why should we hire you,” we all want to spit out the same, generic response: “Because I can do a good job and I am hard-working and I am a good worker and if you don’t, I will feel rejected for the 100th time so please HIRE ME.”

And while that may sort of true, I will provide you three new reasons why you should “go with the O.”

    1. Confidence in what I love to do. Having come from a generalist marketing position where I’ve worked in a multitude of roles and specializations (social media, digital, grassroots, B2B networking, email marketing, account management, business development), I have found my calling: social media. You won’t be bringing me onto your team for one thing, only to find that I am looking to switch over to a different department.
    2. I’m still in my cultivation phase. Although I have been able to gain valuable experience since beginning my career, I am a learner. I am looking to join a company that wants to continue developing its workers, even the most senior digital guy on the team. I want to learn from the best, and complement my own expertise with that of the people who have been at this for years.
    3. Social media design goes beyond the day-to-day for me. Creating art in a business page, something that speaks to someone else, that’s what inspires me. The campaigns that make a lasting impact are those that make you want to meet the team that created them – the ones I want to tip my hat to. That’s what I hope to be a part of.
